There is a growing role of digital technologies in society, but concerns that older adults are being disadvantaged and excluded with the rapid growth use of these technologies. The COVID-19 pandemic led the UK government to mandate lockdowns and social restrictions. This was accompanied by a rapid implementation of many digital services, across primary and secondary healthcare services.

This study aims to explore the experiences and views of older adults from South Asian (e.g., Bangladeshi, Bhutanese, Indian, Maldivian, Nepalese, Pakistani, Sri Lankan) backgrounds about using digital or online methods to access health services such as GPs, pharmacies, dentists, and optician services. We want to answer the following questions:

1. What is it like to use digital or online technologies to access primary care services as an older adult from a South Asian background?
2. How do older adults from South Asian backgrounds describe their views regarding using digital technologies to access primary care services?
3. What are the expectations of older adults from South Asian backgrounds about future digital or online health services in primary care?

Participants will be invited to take part in an online group discussion (lasting about 1.5 to 2 hours) with around 6-8 other people.

They will be asked to discuss their views and experiences of using online methods to access health services and their expectations for future services.
