About
The National Institute for Health and Care Research (NIHR) have funded this event in central Newcastle for people affected by macular degeneration or those around them. The day will focus on local research seeing how new technology could use eye photos to help plan injection treatment for individuals with wet macular degeneration and improve their experience of clinic visits. Two breaks with lunch and refreshments will split the day into three parts looking at what opportunities there are to improve current care, what this new technology can do and how we might best use it to benefit people with wet macular degeneration.
There will be plenty of time set aside for discussions and questions. We really want to hear what you think about the research and the issues that are important to you, so the research team will note down some of the ideas and thoughts that are shared through the day. There will also be talks and discussions from people living with macular degeneration, ophthalmologists innovating macular degeneration care and representatives from the Macular Society and NIHR. The aim is to give you a wider sense of research to improve macular degeneration care.
